Letter from a patient

Happy Thanksgiving . We went around the table a few hours ago and said for whom or for what we were thankful. Sitting here in the quite, typing away, I should have said I'm thankful for Dr. Bones. This Thanksgiving, I can sit and stand and bend and reach and stoop and did ten other movements that my wife asked me to do today. Each Spring for, say the last seven years, I've dragged my leg and hip and back problem down [to Signal Hill Chiropractic on] Cook Road to get fixed up. I always blamed it the riding lawn mower since I would bounce around and shift my weight so as not to tip over and that caused lots of lower back problems. But this past Spring, I started to attend Doc's Saturday morning walking class and as you see by my activities today, the class has made a huge difference in my physical well being.

Walking class is a slight misnomer as we don't go out for 10 miles and say how great we feel. We really only travel four to five hundred yards during a half hour class but it's how we travel those yards that's the real secret here. Walking class puts us in position to "feel" our toes and thighs and waist and shoulders and helps us work those muscles and hopefully makes us stronger and healthier. I stepped off of the upstairs hallway onto the top step a few weeks ago and my calf "popped" and I was in pain but immediately went into a stretch routine taught to us by Doc and that loosened the calf and made me feel better. What really amazed me was that I actually had a calf muscle to "pop." Imagine that.

There is lots of room at class every Saturday and this Saturday we meet at the Milford High School track at 8AM and I encourage you to come down and let the teacher rap your knuckles, oh wait, that was my early schooling, I meant to say start a program to a better you. Thanks again for your help and service to your patients.

Chuck Arnold

Now if I could also lose 50 pounds but let's not go there just after turkey dinner.
